    Good afternoon,

In Northern Va, when it gets hot mid to late summer, what is a good height to cut lawns ?.

    Thanks,

3-3 1/2 " is probally a safe bet. Cut at 3 than work up to 3 1/2. than bring it back down the same way. This enables you to pretty much not miss a cut or a check.

Echo Seascape. KBG doesn't cut very well above 3". It tends to lay over. Fescue cuts better, but generally doesn't need the water conservation. So it depends.

I am in Fredericksburg and I cut no lower than 3inches in the hot months and try not drop below that anytime of the season. I have one client that complains all the time about me not cutting low enough, however he only has me cut it 2 a month ! If they want it any lower than 3 they can sign a zero laibility (sp) clause or call some one else !
