grass seed analizing
My busniess partener and I feel we have rip off on some seed we bought and we would like to get it analized. We have no clue were to take or send it. If any one out there can help us out with some all important info it would be appreciated. Again we are looking for some place that will analize grass seed in ohio or any were for that matter

Call your county extension office. Or have a look at Ohio State's website. They have the facilities to do something like that, but I'm not sure what they would charge.
ALWAYS buy grass seed from companies that stand behind thier product. It is supposed to have an analysis on the label. NEVER buy grass seed from a "landscaping" store that has it sitting around in steel trash cans or the like, because ANYTHING could get in there. One smartass (or disgruntled employee) with a handful of dandilion seeds, birdseed (thistle) etc., can wreak havoc. And never buy that trash at the local discount store either, as a lot of it has annual ryegrass in it, which is pretty much worthless in Ohio.

y ai m thinking oso extension center but it will probally cost. Tell me the situation. I do know however annual rye can be esily spotted in any mix because it is large. A goog blue grass mix tends to be very tiny seeds.

Just for reference a link that should be able to help you is http://www.hcs.ohio-state.edu/. They are the headquarters for your extension office I think. Woody is right - they will cost a little, but if it comes push to shove, and you can't get your money back, you will want them on your side! At the least, they should be able to tell you if you have what you are supposed to have bought.Comment
