  • Leaves ???

I'm located in louisiana, lots of leaves will start to fall? What do I do? Do I charge them(my accounts) more? I qoute my accounts on a basic mow, weedeating, blow. Racking should be more, but how much more? I'm starting to blow them in the middle of thier yard then mow over them.

of course you charge them for that if you only agreed on mow, trim, and blow. the amount you charge will depend on time used to remove the leaves. also, dont forget the amount of time, and the method of disposal. if you have to take the leaves to a landfill, or carry them anywhere include your fuel and expenses such as that. i have found that leaf removal is a good money maker...nobody wants leaves in their lawns. make sure you have a good blower too!
    best of luck.
Those who go to work in the dark and come home in the dark are bound to be successful.

Charge them for a clean-up. $45.00 per man hour including disposal.

          Tasser,

Be careful putting them in people's gardens. If the people who you take the leaves from get their lawns chemically treated, then you could be harming the gardens of the people who you sell them to. The chemicals could seep into the soil and when they plant there the new plants could reject the soil. Especially if you are mulching the leaves with the grass.

All I am saying is be careful. I'm not even sure if it definitely could do harm, but it makes sense that it might. Logically speaking.

Weekly service accounts should be charged regular mowing rates until the final 2 weeks of the service when additional charges should be applied for leaf removal from beds & possible additional passes due to leaf volume.
