Install Gutter Guard from Lowes.

One of our good clients has 208 feet of guttering on his house. He decided to call the well know company Gutter Guard out of the news paper. I think it was a sub-contracted installer if that is how they do it. The owner of the house fliped when he got the price for the installing and guard. The man stayed at his house for 1.5 hrs telling him how he could not live with out this. The home owner paid $450 to have his gutters put up previousley. Gutter guard wanted $2,400 to install Gutter Guard. Home owner said there is know way that he would pay more than $500 for this. I think that the man seen that the home owner is very well off ( Brand new White Hummer in drive and New Land Rover also) and thought he would get what ever he wanted to charge. I looked in to the Best Gutter Guard at Lowes and it is $2.75 for 4 foot section and looks very easy to install so I am going to put up the Guard for the Home Owner and save him $2,000 dollars. We are thinking about starting to install a like Gutter Guard that would save people tons. Any suggestions on pricing this and how easy it is to do? It looks like a snap to put on.

This is very high profit margin business, if get into it this you will probably quit the Lawn Business!

In my area the nearest competition to Gutter Guard is over 30 miles away & I live in a city of 250K Pop & a surrounding area of over 600K.

This company that is not Gutter Guard has a machine that makes seamless guttering. people like that, they are cheaper than Gutter Guard. This company is over 10 weeks behind on Installs.

OK, Gutter Guard gave me a rough estimate on my house. It's an easy access 2 Story...

He figured 2-40 foot runs with a break in the center (so water would run to each end), one on the front & one on the back. This included a total of 4 downspouts 1 on each end of the 40 foot runs.

He quoted me $1,800 installed & guaranteed. Ok, here's another money maker, If (IF) I would have needed facia boards replaced it would have cost me an extra $10 a running foot.

The Gutter Guard company in our area has a total of over 30 Employees. They have people telemarketing it making appointments. Then salesman goes out & bids the work. The salesman gets a Salary plus 10% Commission.

The salesman said 2 employees could install my guttering in less than 3 hours, if I needed the facia replaced it would take 3 employees less than 3 hours, 1 would be a Helper.

The Salesman said they are doing between 500,000 & a little over a Million a month in sales. Depends on the time of the year.

He could have been lying but that's what he told me & I've been knowing him for over 10 years. LOL, he does BS once in a while.

GM is right,, the seemless gutter guards is big $$$ that stuff from Lowe's is not near the same quality. It's just like buying an mtd from Lowe's and then trying to compare it to an Exmark.

When Gutter Guard sells you a Job, they Guarantee it to never need cleaning out & if it does, they come to your home & clean it out for free?

Now guarantees are only as good as the person behind it...

We install them. We get the same product from Menard's for less than $2.00/section. They are very easy to install on a good roof.

find a wholesale contractor's supplier that sell's siding. Most of these guy's sell leaf guards 8ft long for $13.00 or so. heavy duty.I have installed many in the last 4 year's without any problem.
