      Phil,

      Looks like you've got about everything covered. Listed below are several things that I would like to have easier access to that maybe you would want to think about adding to your website, or maybe you are going to. Or, maybe you could help point me in the right direction. It seems that there is no "one stop" place to find the following. In the past I've had to do a lot of digging to find what I was looking for.

      Industry profiles
      Local market statistics such as:
      Demographic profiles
      Market size
      Demand
      Local and national trends
      Growth trends
      Consumer preferences
      Competition

      I've found that to find these things I have to do a lot of my own research at many different places (chamber of commerce, books, trade journals, magazines, etc.).

        Those look like real worthwhile additions. What I could do is have a section ... maybe call it ... Market Research ... one of the frustrations for me at least is that while the internet has an enormous amount of info ... it would nice to have it consolidated, gathered (industry specific) in other words ... man, just show me what I need to know, and only what I need to know. Save a whole bunch of aggravation because who has time to do it all?

        Just so you'll know ... my ultimate goal for C.O.M.S. and the related sister site ... ComsPartners.com ... is to have a "right out of the box" biz start and improve package to simplify and reduce the whole "get a biz off the ground and growing" scenario.

        I think in some ways the internet has caused as much confusion as it solves ... so I'm hoping to sort out things and have it available ... as a compliment to C.O.M.S. It'll take a while because the potential add-ons grow as we speak.

        But you're right ... lots of people go into biz without knowing if they have a market, how big it is, and what the potential sales can be if they begin or if biz "flattens out" after they start. I think the guys in this biz could do better and continue to expand (if they want) but are busy like the rest of us, don't have the time to come up with getting stuff off the "drawing board stage" and so time goes go by .... this leads me to think in terms of ... "work out the details, send me in the right direction with an A to Z "paint by numbers" and connect the dots biz "crankouts" ... very similar to a franchise package but (without) the franchise package or costs. Anyway I'm working on it.

          I look forward to seeing the final product. I'll defenitely be checking it out. The ratings system is a great idea. I think that if more people coming to this site starting out were looking for answers to some of the questions I posted before, instead of "which mower is best" they would have a much better chance of making it in this business.

            You're right ... a lot of it is in just knowing where to look ... that in itself is an education ... for example what are "The Ten Top Businesses for The Coming Decade" to get into? If you knew that you'd go where the trends are. Nobody in this biz that I know seems to want to talk about whether or not even going into a green biz is wise to begin with. I will at ComsPartners.com let people know the numerical odds and what they are up against. Maybe even have a review section of what it takes to succeed. This is also an important decision. Everybody wants to sell them a mower and send them on their way ... make it or break it. ComsPartners.com WILL NOT be supported by commercial interests ... and we'll tell it like it is!

                Any service type biz that will save people time ... sold to the baby boomers since they are the most affluent and continue to inherit from their parents who are now passing away. Trillions of dollars in real estate, insurance, cash, will change hands. Target the over 50 market.
