Don't forget your double blades. I hardly had to bag any grass last season....even with all the rain we had. Chopped it right up.

            Blade Hieght

I cut Bermuda between 3.5 and 4 inches
I cut St. Aug between 2.5 and 4 inches depending on the watering schedule Just dont scalp the yard you'll end up with brown spots and dead areas. Also becareful when you are cutting un even surfaces because you will leave a noticiable scalp if you hit an un even area and dont know its there. Also watch for sprinkler heads, if you go lower than 3" with your blades often they( the sprinkler heads) wont fall back down completely and you lop of the head of one, which totally sucks now you got an hr or so repair time if you dont carry extra heads on your truck, we do now just for that reason. Any way just ask the cust. or carry a tape this often helps so we set the blades appropriate the first time then we mark thier service card and cut it that height everytime. My big properties that are every other week we cut at around 2" so they dont get away from us in that two week period. You will get the hang of it.......

i try to keep it at 3.5" or more here in florida. grass gets really thick were i'm at. cutting it tall helps it to keep the weeds down, and offers a real nice plush yard in st augustine. in bahia, it lets it lay over a little more making it stripe a little better. also the blades will have a tendency to hold an edge longer cause you're not getting as much grit at the higher setting, and more grass equals less grit in the blades too. well lot's of luck in your new buissness!
