  • Some Advice

Was in business a good while back but stopped. Looking to get back into it again, but as usual lack of funds has me depressed, I have equip, just not heavy duty as the ones I'm sure you all use, but they did their job in the past.

Here,s the low down.i've been in the turf mantainance field
for 9 years, currently working full time at a private golf resort, 40 hours a week 12 days on 2 days off .geting paid squat. $9.00 hr.
I'm forman of crew. anyway I'm tired of busting my butt for nothing . need so help to point me in the right direction.

    any advice how by welcome.

    Thanks,
    Tony

How does 12 days on and 2 days off equal 40 hours a week?? If you are working 8 hour days its alot more then that. I would suggest you start parttime just doing a few jobs a week, and build up from there. Just run it like a real business charging market rates or you will be out of it again before you start.

Tony if your scrapped for funds try making your own flyers on your comp. Walk your neiborhood when you get of work, put those flyers out. Use the equipment you have for now and as you start making money buy used stuff and pay cash for it. P/U more lawns as you go and buy equipment as the cash comes in. Pay for everything dont finance any thing if you cant afford to make the payments. I started with a $99.00 mower from Wal-mart three yrs ago. Now i have about $25,000.00 worth of equip. Just be patient.

tough to advise on this. maybe salvage much old equipment as you can, then try to earn some money from there if possible. if you have to buy something, try to find something used. use the extra income to go soley towards better equipment. tough situation man. best of luck though.
