I have a toro straight shaft convertible weed wacker that I have an edger attatchment for.I want to buy a hedge trimmer but have found that the extended reach by stihl/echo...are almost 500 bucks. Is this ryobi attatchment(that would fit the toro) a piece of garbage(I personaaly think ryobi is garbage but maybe you know something I don't) or can you reccomend something else. I would really like an articulating unit but don't think I could fork out 500 bucks right now after buying a permagreen.

I used it and it only lasted for while, doesnt have much power and binds easy, I think do to the shaft not being solid. i broke down and bought a hedge trimmer and a 12.5 pole saw last summer out of the paper used both Echo for 325.00 from a guy going out of business, but i made the other work until I found those. I wouldn't go back if you paid me!!!!!! beats getting out the ladder all the time.Phillip Fireman's Lawn Care TX

Nice work on the permagreen.
Just buy a regular trimmer and a ladder. The regular trimmer can be used for just about all trimming needs and for doing high hedges either stand on a ladder or on top of your equipment.
