  • A way to lower gas Prices

I hear we are going to hit close to $3.00 a gallon by the summer. Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action.

Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May!

The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

    > > > > > > Please read it and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $1.97 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50- $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace....not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers.

It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all (If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am .. so trust me on this one.) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you I didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.
    Think it would work?

The biggest problem is not the oil companies. It is the ragheads in an organization known as OPEC. The solution is to send some expert snipers in and assassinate their heads of state, on a continuous basis, until someone more agreeable comes into power. Barring this, since most of the world feels the US is nothing but a bunch of imperialists, I feel we should live up to the description, and roll into their respective countries and seize them in the name of Uncle Sam. Then we can enjoy cheap petroleum, and charge the rest of the world out the azz. I say we start with Mexico, our backstabbing neighbors to the south.

They've been talking about this $3 a gallon crap for years now. I'll believe it when I see it actually happen.

It is good in theory but think of all the people who will loose their jobs in the process. Companies will lower prices but not at the expense of their employees.

I buy $2000 worth of gas easy each month. If you take the additional money per gallon and compare to the over all budget of you business then turn into a percentage, you really don't have much. I just raised the price of extra work this amount. Look at insurance now that is a real rip off.

Drill in Alaska and off the east coast and look at OPEC get their heart right.

I like the idea, and could follow that program. But I wonder how commited the average person would be to this. I drive five miles out of my way each fill just to give the business to a small independant station that has hung in there over the years in the face of all the consolidation going on in that industry. They fill for you and the same guy has worked there for over twenty years. Anyway, I do think the big players have been conditoning the public since, oh, G.W.B took over. Since they have not seen a big public outcry on the increase so far, I think 3.00 is no stretch by end of summer. They'll just blame terrorism for that too. I don't know what the answer is, but avoiding Mobile seems like a good start. I would'nt worry too much about loss of jobs either, those sations are'nt exactly swimming in extra employees as it is and the wages and benifits arent going any lower, they can't.

$3.00 a gallon, Holy Shintos! There go my profits ! I'm just gettin' the hang of bidding, now I'll have another psychotic variable to jumble things up. I can only imagine what fun it will be to have break news to customers and listen to them whine & complain about a price hike just b/c gas took a hike toward the sky. How do u guys plan on breaking the news to your customers? New or past customers for that matter?

I guess I better start praying to God for help because this is my second year; I had a rocky first, and I hope this one will grow steadily bigger & better. God please...I want to succeed!!

This is gonna be tough idea to accomplish. It seems more time was spent explaining the great math experiment than the how & why it would work principles.
I'm not sure if it would work at all myself b/c maybe the "ragheads" would simply start selling to the smaller companies and those smaller companies would simply get bigger and do the same to us as the larger 1's already have. Greed gets to 'em all.
You just mite be more sucessful at protecting yourself from high gas prices by putting a small disclaimer in your contracts that simply says that if gas goes above a certain price you have the rite to make minor "adjustments" to fees.
