Another great idea I forgot to mention, if you can afford it. An enclosed trailer works GREAT with your name, logo, and phone number on both sides and back. It's probably one of the best advertisments you can have, as you drive around as you normaly do through out the day and when your at a job. It gives you the direct advertisment in a neighborhood your working in, better than a sign in the yard, I say but again they are a bit more expensive than an open trailer. There is a forum related to these trailers if you happen to be intrested, it covers the advantages and disadvantages! Good luck eaither way you go.

I would also like to know if anyone has had any luck with shirts. We were thinking of ordering some for the upcoming season.

Go get your shirts ! the biggest differance youll see is your confidence in front of potential clients. Your no longer some guy coming to give a price to cut the lawn. Your Ground Werks Lawn Care submitting a proposal for service. Hell that alone is worth $5 per cut.

I replace my uniform every year as they get pretty grungy working in this field. I make my own shirts with iron ons for dark colored t shirsts. Each shirt cost about $7.00. I wear carhart or timberland pants that resist stains. If you get creative, you can come up with some pretty nice uniforms inexpensively.

Mariner, where did you get the iron-ons? I've spent a small fortune on t-shirts and sweatshirts over the past 3 years. I'd love to be able to make them myself.

You can find the iron-ons at a local craft store. Here it is Michaels. I don't know if they have one where your from but i'm sure there is something similiar. Wal-mart may even have them. Just check around.

Man I tried the Iron ons last yr, they only lasted about 20 washes before they started peeling off, I spent $2 on the iron ons with no particular Logo just letters and $4 on t-shirts, I found a print shop that did my Logo on front and back for $7.00 a shirt if i would order 20, Guess what I ordered 25 lst yr and Im getting 25 more this yr. I bought the same amount as I had been with the Iron ons for $25 more with my Logo. Shop around if your like me you have a print shop on every corner you just dont know it!!!

I figured that's what would happen with the iron-ons. I've been ordering 25 white heavy cotton T's for $12 each with a logo pocket on the front and large logo on the back. They just don't last that long. You know how it is, the guys wear them every day in the spring, and by May they look like hell. I've been giving them to them free. Last year I think I gave them about 10 each. Plus, I give them to everyone I know just for the publicity. The sweatshirts are blue hoodies with the logo on the back. They were $25 each for 10.

I use Tan shirts with green Logo, they dont look that bad after getting a few months on them, we wear olive colored dickies pants both colors hold up well, and are very durable, my t-shirt guy talked me into the Jersy T's they seem to be the best fo wear and tear.

flyers work well in middle class neighborhoods. The paper also works well, but i dont know how you could say flyers arent good. they almost always give a one percent return where im from. pass out 10,000 flyers get 100 yards. also often upper class people are cheap. not always but a middle class account can sometimes be better and more loyal.
