How much should I charge to dethatch a lawn?It is a side, front and back yard. Average size residential yard. And, Should I rent a Machine or put a blade on my 21" mower? Thank you for any help!

Rent a machine. Most places rent for about 30 bucks for two hours and 40 for four. It does a better job. I charge for man hours plus rental. A lot of raking up the loose stuff. Rent an aerator to open up the sod a little after you have done the dethatching.
