  • Never too early

Got oen account today signed from my mailings yesterday we did about 75

She said they called someone they had used last year who never called them back. Also last guy would run the big walk behind over her brick path and it was breaking the bricks and she also said he did not show up often enough to keep the lawn cut when they were gone...

so just some things to look for when u are cutting lawns and watch and learn from others mistakes

You will get alot of that. I picked up more work just because the other guy (probably a scrub) wouldn't do the work. Can you imagine trying to run a business with the I wont show up today attitude, yet alot of them try. I cannot even phantom the idea. Here are the reasons I picked up some accounts last year

My lawn guy lives down the street and I saw him hauled away in handcuffs (she turned out to be a great customer that paid in advance)

He cuts like ever three weeks or so and doesn't do any trimming (the first time I cut for this poor guy his lawn was 6 inches high minimum, ended up being a great customer)

My person just cuts the grass and doesn't trim (you should have seen the 1 1/2 foot grass around all the trees, (and yes she turned out to be a great customer)

My guy went out of business (gee I wonder why)

I have found that in this business if you show up when your suppose to. Do a good job. be honest. be professional you will beat 80% of the competition.

good good easy way. alot of people try to get buisness by eduacation, smooth talking, and alot of other ways. most of the time quality service consist of reliability, and doing a complete job everytime. it's amazing how many people want to get paid because they carry around 40,000$ in equipment or have a degree in turf science, but don't want to work.
