    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a Church that would like to get a bid for mowing, it has approx. 12 acres, it is pretty flat, with the normal amount of trimming, around parking lot, ditch, sidewalk, etc. Not many things in the way, can someone tell me about what they charge for A job like this, I live in a small N. of Kansas City, but would like to get estimates from all different states!
I am new to the mowing business, but old to the landscape business, can you also tell me what a 3 man crew, would take to do this!
    Thanks,
    FFLAWNS

What size equipment can you put on the site? Are you able to do it efficiently? How many man/hours will you invest in it?

I'd Charge around $65.00 an acre here or $780.00 a week. Just make sure they dont want every other week. If thats the case id charge about $150 more. Me and my crew (3men total) could prob tackle that size job in about 3 1/2 hrs. Using two riders and one walk behind up next to the church area. But thats just a guess w/o seeing the prop.

Would that go for residential as well. I'm gonna be knocking on doors in a neighborhood this year w/ 2-3 acre lawns. Mainly flat mowing & trees to trim around, small berms & drainage ditches along the front lawns to push mow, & minimal edging along drives & walkways.

Should I bid $65 an acre as mentioned, or go by time... and I honestly haven't timed myseslf on such an immense property before! Need some advice - thanks guys!

The general going rate is $50 per man hr. you can charge higher rates in upper class areas and lower rates in lower class areas if u see fit doing them. if you done other yards in different sizes combine your prices on them and divide

                    Very helpful

Thanks VALLEYWIDE!! I've got a friend & her parents have a 3acre lot. They've got a 36" Walker & it can take them up to three hours to do the lot... I'll try it with my 48" Walker & see the time difference & go from there. Using the $50/hr. rate sounds nice to me... I'm assuming that does incl. trim, edge, & blow all surfaces though.
