  • Which way do you prefer?

On my residential accounts I charge per cut with a bill at the end of the month for however many times I serviced the account.

For my commercial accounts I give them a price per cut and multiply that times the estimated amount of mowings for this area and then divide by 7 to give them the same monthy payments throughout the year.

For commercial accounts should I stay with the above method or should I bill as I do my residential.

This is a good question. I do all my work the way yu do your residentials. This way, it's fair to everyone, and if I go into a job more frequently during the fast growing season, I'm being paid for it.

I do the same and it seems that billing large acounts monthy over the season helps you manage your bills by always knowing how much money will be comming in a month. Only problem is when you sent the large amount bills out hope to see all the money some acounts will only pay a portion at times? Always put a due date on your invoices that way you always can start to colect if not recived.

Right now I bill the same. I do it, then bill for it at the end of the month. Seems to work.

I bill per visit also. Last year we had a real growth spurt here and had to cut twice a week for about a month. So I really got paid for it. We also charge by the month, with a 20 day grace period for payment.

Elite, from you remarks I understand you bill as I do for commercial and as for Allie and mcm, do you just give them a estimated # of cuts per year and tell them their monthly bill may change?

I bill at the end of the month on all commerical and on most residential, but a few pay every time I do something.

Myself likewise. 90% of my customers pay monthly for monthly service provided. I just like it better. In the off season we have an agreed upon price for each visit also. I have 1 customer that wanted to pay on a 12 month contract.
