I havent bought one since 02 but i have owned a few of them. 48s. Only problem i ever had w/ them was the little jesus clip that holds the wheel on was wearing on them. I have a site has alot of hill on it and the extra friction of mowing all those hrs on the hills wears them. The whhel comes off and you have to stop and find the clip,,, put the wheel back on. Now we just insert a new clip about once a month and havent had the problem. Clip is 12 cents and takes 5 seconds to replace.
One thing that sets them apart from other belt drives is the large 8" drive pullies. They very seldom slip. They have to really have a combination of mud and water before the slip.Never have we had to push them, they always produce drive.Cant say that about any other belt drive. Plus the pull a velkie just fine. We cut in 4th gear all day long with them,, slap them in 5 to get fom point A to B. 5th is fast. Hieghth adjustment is pretty easy. Just pull both pins on one side and reset them in the slots you want. Go to the other side and do the same. May have to put some elbow grease into them everynow and than,, but generally its that easy. Fatigue doesnt seem to be a problem,, theyre kinda light. Easy to find parts,, bottom line,,, i like em. Ill probally have another one before this year is up. Ever since i got turned onto them its really hard to go blow 4k on a new exmark hydro when i can get 2 of these for that.Give 1 a shot.
