Is there still a tax credit for gas used off road. I have been looking for it at the irs.gov site an all i see is farm use.

Yes, I use it every time I file my income tax return. Check with an accountant and he/she will get you taken care of with form 4136. My three year averaged savings is $142/yr.

Right, Federal Form 4136 gets you a credit for federal road use tax on all off road fuel for the year. It needs to be claimed as income on your Schedule C the following year.

Check with your own state tax office on how to get credit for state road use tax on gas. You will probably need special receipting for state claims. I get back around 35¢ (state & federal) on every gallon run through mowers and other landscape maintenance machinery.

I am claiming the off road use gas this year. The accountant requested the number of gallons used for the equipment.
