  • All together 15 units one account how to charge?

I have seen and read that a lot of the prows on this forum charge about $60 and or less for an acer wich is about 43,560sf. Now I have this one account wich is 15 units or houses each with about 2,500sf of lawn around them 37,500sf plus each unit is fenst in. It takes me and two guys obout 1.5 hours to do this job. Now if I bid this job high say $60 sins its not even an acer and I pay my guys $10 an hour thats $60 - $30 leavs me with $30 an hour dose this make sens?
Or if I did it myself It would take me about 3hours at $60 thats only $20 an hour. HELP HOW WOULD YOU CHARGE THIS?
Also I wont to buy a 36".Your opinion, wich is best? thanks to all.

Base the job on man hours. Eventually you can figure how much is needed per 10,000 sq ft or so (depending on the quality of the job). But base it off your man hours and how much you need to charge per man hour. If you need to charge $35 per man hour, you have 2 guys for 1.5 hours. That's 3 man hours multiplied by $35 per.

Don't forget travel time. And figure what YOU need to charge. I used $35/hr just for an example, it depends on your expenses and what you hope to profit.

You sound way off on that one. 4.5 man hours for $60. Where you at? I have a bunch of work id like to sub out to you.Unless you have something else really close i would have to get about$90,$110. Especially w/ fenced areas. Now if i could drop my gate do that one and another in one stop than i might bid it low like that but than again probally not that low. If they dont understand the rate than tell em thats what you need to do the job up to your specs. If they dont bite on it than make sure they have your card because they will probally go w/ one of the larger companies and have some problems. Assure that they can call you again if they need.75% of the time they do.

Thats not what Im chargeing for these units infact Im chargeing a lot more. I was just surprised that a lot of us on the forum only charge about $60 or so for an acre 43,560sf but Im thinking thats for a wide open area, more than likely.

        Thanks for your response.

I figure my man hours at 40.00 if it takes 2 people 1 hour to cut then that is 2 man hours times 40.00 or 80.00. the only time i figure by the acre is when it is wide open spaces.
