simple, you reset the measurment to 0 roll it down one side to get your length write your measurment down, reset go across to get a measurment for width then multiply length x width this gives you square footage. you can also use the wheels for measuring triangles ect.

Easiest way to square off as much as possible. Some things I'm ok if I'm within 500sf, some things I want to be with 100sf.

Home Depot has one that will do for most of what you need for $60.00. You can get a smaller one that is cheaper, but I would not waste the money.

I just ordered a suitable one of ebay for 9 bucks!

Get one with a comfortable handle length, (long enough for your body),
and one with at least a near 6" wheel.
Im goanna get rich, how about you?

I would agree with what Imograss said.

Personally I would say get a wheel with a 12" minimum. You need it for tall grass and snow.

I also agree with Imograss on the measurements and CCLS on the size wheel. The 12" or greater will work better alround for different situations.

Not all areas of land to mow are square. What about the areas that a rounded, curved, and go all which ways. How do you use the wheel to get the most accurate sq. footage?

i like the wheels that have counter in the middle of the wheel.
the others seem to get dirt and mud stuck on counter and mess count up bye not clicking .

Be aware that measuring wheels slip! There is slippage on grass and most any other non-paved surface. Any measurment on grass will probably be 2-3% less than actual, and long grass or damp grass can get you up to 8-10% off.

I always do all possible measurements on pavement, to get a more accurate reading.
