        mainly the newspaper.

can't do flyers or hangers . can't put flyer on cars, and the golf resorts including the one I work at there's no solicitation.

going to try newspaper insert , but don't the extra money yet to put them in .

Not to get you down but I have picked up 75 new customers in the last 3 weeks. About 20 mows and the rest are lawn and/or tree apps/ aerations and seeding jobs. I did a 5" x 5" color ad in the sunday paper for those 3 weeks. Color makes a huge difference. It draws your eyes to it. Its a little more costly but pays for itself in the end. Total cost for three weeks was about a grand and that got me about $30,000 in work! A steal in my eyes!

If you are in JawJa you might be a little too early!

Here in Columbus, Georgia things are still slow, we have mainly bermuda & zoyzia, it hasn't greened up yet?

Why can't you do door hangers? Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Every Chinese Resturant, Chemlawn, Lawn Doctor, every company does it here. I think there may be an ordinance against it in Richmond, but I'm going to continue to hang door hangers until I'm physically stopped and fined.

That may be the case too. The fescue has really just gotten going here in the last week. We've just about finished contractual spring cleanups, and will begin mowing next week.

Don't sit back and wait for people to call you, go get them. Cold calls to commercial sites, letters to them as well. How about direct mail?? Offer referal bonuses to existing clients.

Waiting for clients to call is like waiting for the sun to rise. It will happen when IT wants to, not when YOU want it to. To get that sun to rise sooner, get in your car, a bus, a plane or a train and GO TO IT!!

                      Wagons EAST!!!

Be agressive!! If your current add is not working, change it. Catch their attention. Call landscape companies who do not do maint. and netork. Offer to receive referals or sub. maint. for them.

Do whatever it takes to GET WORK!!
Jeeps are like women.....much more fun with their TOPS OFF!

Those other LCO's might have scheduled 7 or 10 day maintenance agreements.

Now would be a good time to try to do some clean ups!

I would HIGHLY recommend NOT doing that! A BIG waste of money!

                          Try this instead:

Never hesitate to talk to people. Network. You never know when a homeowner or a business owner may be looking for someone.. Be sure to have business cards ready!

Also... Talk to all the folks you know. Tell them that you’re in the business and offer referral incentives if they bring you new business.

                          Network. Network. Network.

                          Good luck!

I don't know what it looks like in your back yard, but here the snow is only just about gone in most places and yesterday was the first truly spring-like day since it snowed for three last week. I took my first call for a clean-up at 10 minutes to 5:00 yesterday. Gave the estimate at noon ( $350. ) today, and will get her done on Monday. I think it's about to break.
