  • They won't talk about Toro in that forum

In another forum they will compare other brands but they will always compare them angainst Exmark because it is one of their sponsers. They make Exmark sound like the gold standard. Is it true? I have ordered a 36 Hydro Toro.

Did you get fixed or floating?

If you got the floating & it has vertical height adjustments on the carrier frame take it back immediately & get an eXmark 36" TTHP.

If you purchased the "classic" floating w/horizontal height adjusts & T-Bar, take it back & get the pistol grips or better yet an eXmark 36" TTHP.

If you ordered the fixed deck hydro w/T-Bar, take it back & get the same unit w/pistols or better yet an eXmark 36" Viking w/ECS.

Exmark is manufactured by Toro actually. Toro is the Corvette, and Exmark the Camaro... I owned a '03 model of the mower you just ordered. The decks are being phased out (SFS decks are being replaced by the TurboForce) This new deck is a much needed improvement over the SFS. Picking up leaves was a nightmare I kid you not, but bagging grass, it performs like a champ! Any questions that come up w/your machine I may be able to help you. Cheers!

Mr.Schwebke, eXmark is not manufactured by Toro. eXmark designs & produces their own mowers, some of which Toro brands as their own. The only unit that is actually made by Toro is the Metro 21". Larger eXmark Walks are far superior to Toro's.

As I recall you were specifically warned about that 36" Toro floater by my former associate Zack., you paid no heed & you suffered the consequences.

My bad, I guess the dealer was just rattling off some facts and I misunderstood him. Oh well, I don't use that dealer anymore... I run Walker now Jack, does that pass in your book? LOL! Cheers!

Had you purchased the eXmark TTHP or Tracer, you would be happily mulching grass & leaves & not have been forced to trade in a Toro SFS unit which can neither mulch nor discharge well for a rider that excells only at bagging & lacks the versatility of a good hydro Walk.

I disagree with your comparisons. Exmark is the Lexus and Toro is the Volkswagon Beattle.

Exmark is still it's own manufacturing company, but Jack D., Toro did buy a controlling interest in it according to an announcement in a leading industry mag several months ago. The scoop was that Toro wouldn't change the Exmark line except to intrduce some of it's technology into Exmark, and that is why Exmark has the ECS as an option.

Mr M., Toro did purchase a controlling interest, however eXmark is run as a seperate entity.

Please review this statement by Mr. M, "except to intrduce some of it's (Toro) technology into Exmark"

                The eXact opposite is true.

Jack D. will not allow eXmark to be befouled by misinformation.

Jack D. many apologies to the good name of Exmark!!! I certainly wouldn't want anybody to think that I like Toro since I am an Exmark fan.
