  • Shipping and Initial Quick 36 feedback

Okay I finally got to the Roadway express terminal and picked up my new Quick 36. I've got to keep this short I don't have much time....

    1. You could drop the mower in the shipping crate out of an airplane (a parachute would be good) and I don't think it would phase it. Even the guys at the terminal said it must be a quality product, or the company really cares about its products to be packaged so good - Think how may crates they see in a day. The comment from them made me feel good about the purchase
(If I order another one ever I'll have it delivered to my door, though)
    SHIPPING: A+

    2. Once you wrestle the crate off and expose the mower setup couldn't be easier and the instructions are very clear and simple to follow. The only thing that I wasn't crazy about - and it's not a big deal at all was the location and access of the ground wire attachment.... tough spot to get too and in fact so tight I seperated the ring terminal from the wire - when the nut was tightened there was no way to keep the whole thing from spinning... Gary if you read this will this present any problems? There is exposed copper wire now.
    SETUP: A/A+

    3. Quality - I can't really make a judgment here and won't apply my own silly grade until I've used the unit for while BUT, I did find the stud (bolt) that you attach the ground wire to (and most important holds the motor to the chasis was loose. Not a big deal because this piece gets touched during setup without exception 'cause you have to attach the ground wire. Overall my initial feel of the quality was excellent.

    4. The thing is simple to use... I mean simple man. It's great.

    5. The thing that blew me away was the ease of manuverability for a single hydro... I never ever would have thought a 'manual steer' mower would move so effortlessly - A++++

I love this thing so far. I haven't been able to use it to actually mow yet but I have a really good impression so far. If anyone has any questions feel free.

The operator of the QUick36" seems to be looking at all the clippings he is blowing in the bed & wondering how difficult it will be to remove them.

This makes a good case for a mulch kit.

The advent of powder paint has made vehicle electrical system grounding a pain the butt... the stuff insulates so well that you can never count on grounding to "just anywhere" on the chassis, like the old days. I always include a master ground loop back to the engine base when I design a wiring harness. As long as you have a connection there Jeff, you shouldn't have a problem. I'm searching for a "slicker" way to make those connections simpler.

Yesterday, we added a mulching plate to the accessory list to go along with the Gator blades.

Glad your machine came in unscathed!

Well I hope that the Quick 36 is a huge success because this industry needs to lower costs anyway it can.

Mr. Quick36", please ensure your mulch kit baffles each individual chamber & does not consist solely of a discharge block off-plate.

You may also want to consider changing the pic on your Home Page as it seems I am not the only one who finds it humorous.

I don't know if Gary will get to see this and answer but I thought it would be a good question to add to the Quick 36 list for those of you who have been searching for more info, too...

I was wondering what the best method to change the oil on this bugger was? I rolled the unit out and was really going over it today (haven't had anything to mow yet - so it's kinda like playboy vs.... well you get the idea) and was lookin' at the little 'L' shaped oil drain and wondering what the easiest way to catch the oil was going to be without pouring it all over the wheel, etc and not taking things apart? I'm envisioning a homemade device that will route the oil into a pan... anyways if you read this Gary I'd appreciate any tips you might have.

Thought the info would be useful to others so I posted the question here...

Please run the engine 5 min. prior to vacuum to ensure sludge is suspended.

                            Jeff,

I reailze our oil drain is a little awkward at the moment... kinda like when I used to change the oil in my Shovelhead... ten minutes to drain the oil and then another thirty minutes to clean it up off the side of the engine, frame, chainguard, swingarm, tire, floor, etc. I know you're going to laugh, but I used to cover the area with Saran Wrap... let it drape into a "trough" down to your drain pan. Pull the plug and let 'er fly. Actually works pretty good.

I'm looking for a company that offers a good flex hose drain with a crimped on "secure" valve. If any of you see one you like, try to notice who the manufacturer is, tell me about it and we'll look at making it a standard on the machine.
