My brother is a manager for apple bees. They have aprox. 6,500 square feet of mowing pretty straight forward, it is flat and on three side of the parking lot about 8'x 300' on one side about 4'x 300' on the other side and about 8' x 150' across the back. There are no trees the only trimming is down along the curbs. The LCO they have cutting it is charging them $120.00 per week that is right $120.00 I figure this cut is 50.00 tops. He has called other LCO's to bid it but when they find out who is cutting it they refuse to bid against him. When the existing lco was told they were going to take bids he said no one had better come in to his territory. This place is about three hours from where I am or I would go bid it. I wonder what this guy is doing to keep the other LCO's out?

Billy Bad Ass, We have them here, I'm new to the lawn care business
and already have heard people say," better not mess with any of my customers." That realy pisses me off, if someone wants me to bid on a job, I be Damn if Billy Bad Ass is going to stop me.
Those kind of guys are everywhere, its just a thing we got to deal with. Gotta Frame

I love bidding against those guys, because they get so pissed off. If you don't bid on accounts like that they you are showing him that he can intemidate you. Who the hell is he to say that you can't bid here or there. If I ever talked face to face with a guy like that I would tell him were to go.

Ive never heard of anything like that. We have a few large companies that are hard to bid against but only because they are very cheap and do very good work. Like push a 2 acre entrance for 50. And bag it!!!I cant touch that. I stay away from theyre stuff but only cause of that. What are they gonna do beat you up? That one your talking about id bid it ,get it, than sub it out to a local there even if you dont make much than id find out what else they have and drop bids there also. Sub it all out.They wouldnt make it here. We have companies here you wouldnt believe. I see them rolling the free way 4 extenda cabs loaded with the windows up and 5-6 passanger vans follwing full of dudes.Those guys take what they want but they do it fair i guess.
