What type of Hedger to get

I am looking for a good quality hedger. Can anyone recommend one I can use as well as my 14 yr old son. Double on Single cut? (what's the advantage of each) 24" or 30"? Husqvarna, stihl, echo, john deere, shindaiwa? We will be doing about 15 accounts total.

I have a 24" double sided maruyama and it works very well. It has the multi position handle and will cut almost anything that gets in its way.

I think it has a 2 year commercial warranty but you may want to go to their website and double check.

I have a 30" Stihl HS80, and an KM 110 with the articulating head for higher and longer reach stuff. The 30" trimmer is big, and you may not need one that size, but it works great, as does the combination motor and articulating head. I'd have serious reservations about putting that trimmer in a 14 year old's hands. I'd rather give him a chain saw.

Don't like to use power hedgers they leave some shrubs looking ragged. Plus they are not good for the plant. When you hand prune you can have a lot more natural look. And the plant will be a lot healthier. This also means more time and more money. But some customers only like the poodle ball or square box look so give them what they want but try to explain the benefit of the hand pruning first. And if you have get a hedger get the articulating kind; more versatile. Just my opinion; you know the old saying.

Articulated Double-Sided Hedge Trimmer Little on the heavy side but well worth it. Hedge Trimmers Also run the DH230. I for one like shindaiwa product. Have plenty of power and easy to work on if you have problems.
