  • Lawn Installation

Hey guys, since im still new to this business I need some more help, because I want to bid accuratly. Just picked up a job to install a lawn. Its about one acre in an L shape. My customer was having it rough graded this week. How do I go about bidding for this? I know if its rocky ill probably need a power rake to smooth it out, and planting the grass will be easy, I just have to get a knack for this bidding deal. thanks again guys, this forum has been a real help for me.

You already have the job? ... without having given a price or work writeup? Anyway wait till after the rough grade to see what you are starting with. Make sure that rough grade drains away from the building, look for 1/4 inch per foot run in all directions. With a spring lawn, might be better off thinking hydroseeding sub, with call backs due to rains. Go down to Home Depot buy the Ortho Book ... How To Install Lawns ... because it's easier said than done. One acre is not a small first job.
