  • Please Help me with this bid in East GA.

I am going to give a bid tomorrow on this Doctors office building and need your help.

Ok I have never planted flowers or maintained flower beds.

I want a monthly price for a yearly contract.

I will charge $70 to mow weed eat and blow the lawn (3 times a month).

Then there is about 25 small boxwood shrubs 2 ft. tall. (how often should I trim the hedges)

About 20 bales of straw needed to be laid. How many times a year should I place fresh straw??

Then there is a 4 flower beds about 2ft X 8ft. Should I plant flowers that are annuals? I plan on picking the weeds every 10 days to keep under control.

thanks for all your help I have no clue how to bid this.

My friend I am afraid that at 70 a month, which is 23.33 a visit that you will loose your tail on this one. The shrubs need to be trimmed twice a year. Flats of flowers vary from place to place so check a nursery to see how much they will cost you. Laying the straw and weeding the beds you described will take a lot more time that you think. Check your prices BEFORE you jump.
We do a Doctor's office a bit larger than the one your looking at and to keep it up to standard takes lots of time and effort every week in our case, then ad in the mulch (14yds) and spreading time and things can get very close on proffit margin. This was our first commerical acount and we have learned a lot from this place. We charge a little over two and one half times your estimated price per month and still don't make much on this acount. So know your timming and your cost before you turn in that estimate.

          OK,

Now that price seems a bit better. Cut shrubs at least twice per year, plant flowers in spring and fall, watch your shady and sunny areas. Look in the search mode here and find the post I started on "flowers". There was a lot of great discussion on types plantings ect. Take extra care to make this place look great if you get it.

          Good Luck!
