Hey, what do you guys think of this trailer?

I want to get this trailer as my starter trailer and upgrade later on! I'll be using this trailer to load my lawn mowers, trimmers, shovels, blowers, just the basic stuff for maintenance for now.

I won't be hauling any stones or anything heavy like that yet!

I was gong to get it at home depot!

You can find a brand new 6' x 12' single axle for $900. It'll be sooooo much better than the little trailers that Home Depot sells. You'll outgrow it quickly if you stay in this long. If I had it to do over again I'd search for a used 8' x 16' instead of wasting the money outgrowing two trailers like I've done over the past three years. After being in business for a while you'll quickly learn to always buy the biggest your budget allows no matter what the item is because you're usually gonna outgrow it quicker than you expect.

If it were me I'd look around for a used trailer. You'd really be suprised at what a difference a wire brush and a can of spray paint can make on a trailer. Or, if you don't want used, take a look around the local dealers I bet you can find a nice 6' x 12' with 4' mesh sides that you'll be much happier with.

Ah .. what's the purpose for the steel mesh sides?

I was going to put 2 pieces of wood in the sides and nail down some hooks!

Can I get like trimmertrap for my steel mesh sides?

Alpine, take a look at this link. Tailers

The mesh sides are just one of many options for the sides, and yes your could mount a trimmer trap to whatever sides you decide on.

I have a 8' x 16 dual axle. It's made by a local manufacturer named Holmes. I don't know how far they distribute, but I don't it's not that far! There are a lot of trailer manufacturers around, and I'm sure it's probably the same there. Yes, I haul a sorts of stuff with it. I can put about 8000lbs on it. Right now I'm really wanting a dump trailer, but I'm holding off until I decide what kind of landscape truck I'm going to buy next year. If I go with a dump bed I won't need the trailer. Let me tell you, it sucks having to fork mulch off the trailer on every job.

Ya, all I can do is either get it delivered or just shovel it into a wheel barrow

As mentioned above, look for a used 16 foot trailer. Used is very cheap typically. When you get it, be sure to pack your wheel bearings. It is cheap preventative maint. to avoid a costly breakdown on the job. Also inspect bushings, wiring, lights, tires, etc.

You will outgrow a trailer like that very quickly and the re-sale value is almost non-existant.

                        Good Luck!
