Dethatch and Aeration Costs?

Just wondering what a ball park cost would be to dethatch and aerat an acre? I have a customer that was wondering about cost, and since I don't yet offer that service I wanted to give her an approximation of what she should be paying. As always any info is welcome.

Depends on the thatch. In the NW we de-thatch and aerate lawns to get rid of moss. Depending on the amount of moss or thatch that needs to be raked or mowed over. I usually bid about .07 a square foot for a normal lawn, without heavy moss. That’s $210.00 for a 3000 Square foot lawn. You also have to take in, you can just run the machines straight on an acre. It’s the turns that eat up time. So if it was me and I was looking at an acre that wasn’t too bad in way of thatch, I would bid $800 to $1000.

Not sure about dethatching, starting that this year. Been doing aerating for 2 years, and I estimate to try and make 100-125/hr, including windshield time. I'm guessing dethatching should at least match that. Aerating has been a good profit for me.
