  • Any one install ponds?

I had put in my first pond in the last two days it was nice to do something diffrent for a change but man thats some tedious back breaking labor the pond was only about 9 ft round with a 2 foot bog and a little waterfall coming out. hard work but it seemed to pay off when i steeped back and looked at it. turned out beautiful theres only like two compaines in my area installing them and they pretty much get every job. but they have at least a 6 month waiting list so im thinking about advertizing for it. the question i have is do any of you install ponds if you do do you think its worth it cosidering your in the lawncare end.
    thanks

My husband is planning to install a waterfall/pond feature in our own landscaping this fall... using boulders, rocks, riverstone, etc... He has incorporated a lot of rock/boulders around our landscaping borders, beds, etc... and enjoys scaping w/them. He is considering this as a possible specialty down the road.

My opinion, from our perspective here in Ohio.. there are not many that do that type of install. You are probably on to something. It is a great deal of work, but remember that pricing it in relation to the quality, hours of manpower and overhead is just like any other service. Don't sell yourself short.

We are considering having my husband take some courses over the winter months to become more educated on these features and to learn more. I thiink it could be a very nice area for us to get into. The possibilities are endless... Golf courses, putting courses, residential homes (upscale), commercial sites (office buildings, medical treatment facilities, etc..)... the list goes on and on... I have personally thought of nearly a dozen places we have seen spectacular creations w/water features within a 20 mile radius where we live.

Good luck and let me know how your feedback turns out.
