    My Rates

For any landscaping/lawn maintenance work (we usually end up making a little more mowing but it's still close) we charge the following per man hour:

    Family (a handful of accounts) = $25

    Weekly Mowing Accounts = $30

    Anyone else = $35

These are low-end industry standards in Southern NJ. Most professional rates range 35-45/hr, with avg between $35-40. This may seem slightly high for one man, but look to the future when you have to pay $10-15 to your workers, and you need take-home as the owner. Hope this helps.

Don't lower your prices just to get started. Fin out what the going rate is in your area and charge that. Keep in mind not all people are going to accept that rate. some will actually be willing to pay more some will try to dicker you down. If the going rate in your area is $35.00 per hour then charge $35.00 per hour. I don't tell customers my rate I just estimate the amount of time then charge my rate and give them the proposal. I've only been dickered down a couple of times but even if I have to drop $10.00 a hour off of the job, I can still make money on $25.00 a hour. Some people on this forum will say not to do that, but I think that they have forgotten what it's like just starting out and need the work. I just started out in Jan of this year and it has worked for me so far. I had my first $9000.00 month last month and I think that's pretty darn good for the amount of time that I've worked.
        Good luck to you
