I think fall is agreat time to start up. I am also starting a part time service now. If you can pick up some customers doing fall clean up, or aerating, or fertilier and seeding, hopefully they will be around and calling when cutting season returns.
I have heard thru the grapevine that the fall is probably the best time to buy new equipment because sales are down and so are prices.
What do you guys think?-Rodney

i got one more cut and a mulch job out of this so far and i am $5 higher than the other guy. i also got another cut from post cards i sent out 2 months ago because these people were not satisfied with their current service. that was today! moral is........... GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Originally posted by delasghi picked up 2 new ones lastweek for mowing and got mulch and weeding jobs out of both. they are neighbors and i may get 3 more across the street. they all had the same co. and all have the same complaints. some guy pulling a single axle with a jeep and scalping the yards. this is a neighborhood that i chose not to postcard. BIG mistake on my part. upper middle class at best. go for it cause you will be surprised with the results.i did my work late friday and saturday while everyone was home and that made all the difference in the world as to the extra job i got and the bites on the others.
