My daughters softball coach has asked me to bid on mowing the ball fields next summer and along with that asked me if I would like to sponser the team. Didn't really think a whole lot about the sponser thing, but I gave him a call and asked him how much the people would see my name. He told me it would be on there banner on the dugout as a sponser. Its $150 for the season.

Anyone ever done this and benifited?
    Thanks
    Mike

That's not bad... If the banner will be left up at all times, and not just during games. (most stay up all season though) I'd see if you could maybe convince him to find a spot along the fence where it was visible from the busiest street adjacent to the field as well as the bleachers.

The banner comes down after the game cause all different teams play on the field and as for the location it is on a dead end so basically the people im talking to in the bleachers are seeing my name. Hmmm.....not sounding like to good an idea.
      thanks

Aside from the fact that it's your daughter's team... You might want to check with other athletic assns. to see if you can find one in a better location that does leave the banners up.

Now that you gave me the idea... We have an athletic assn that does leave the banners up, and the back fence is located so that banners would be visible from a major blvd that is being widened to a 4 lane right now. Gonna have to get in touch with them to see what the costs are. $150 would be worth it for a banner in view of a busy street.

An added note: Her coach is the main decision maker on the bid im giving as well. I need to find out when he needs to know about the sponsership. Because if I don't sponser them is he going to push my bid through.

Here's a good idea for you guys looking for banner or sign space. This is what I've done at several locations around town. You know how you see these deserted areas at intersections that always have some powerwashing or "we buy houses for cash" sign on them for a day or so before they're ripped up. What I did was went to the website of whatever jurisdiction the area is in and went to the city or county GIS map page. I found the owners of several roadside areas and called them. I explained that I see these temporary signs up all the time and that I would like to put up a small tasteful painted wooden sign with my company name and number. On all three locations the landowners were so impressed that I actually took the time to call and get permission that they let me put the signs up for free. Now I have three nice 18"x24" blue signs with white lettering at key intersections near neighborhoods I work in that never get taken down. Plus, I put eye hooks in the bottom of them and I have seasonal banners that I hang under them. Like right now all three have "Aerating & Seeding" banners on them. BTW $100 each at Fast Signs.

Our shop is one one of the busiest streets in town, and we keep talking about putting up a small sign in front, but never get around to it... My partner is probably selling the property anyway so we probably won't do it due to buyers checking out the property. We thought about putting up a BIG sign, but we were worried that we would be advertising to crooks that we store our equipment there. LOL
