Im the same way. Any chance you can pay another truck off real quick than go sign on another? Thats what i do.
It's an option. The only thing is, the money I put towards paying off my truck I have now, is a lot of my savings, or profit from 2004.

So what do you do? Pay some bills ahead, make sure you have enough in the company back account to pay you and one helper's salary? Or, buy a new truck and look like hell for work?

    That is the question.

I.M.O. I would pay as much principle on the truck payment as you can afford, provided there is not a penalty for early pay off. Why pay interest if you can get away from it. If you put money in saving’s is it’s interest , going to be more than the interest you pay on truck note? I like to have money in the cookie jar for slow unforeseen events, that’s where the juggle comes in- where to put the profit, Is it really profit?

Right now GM is running 0% interest for 72months, which for some people is good and others its not! Just a little info!

Yeah that makes sense. The interest on my truck loan is higher than my what my business' profit is earning (which is 0% because it's just sitting in my business checking) so I'm losing there. But like you say, I like to have money in the cookie jar as well especially with winter coming. Business will be slowing down a little this year. Not as much as last year, but it's going to be a little slow in Dec and Jan. Next year the slow season isn't going to be as much of an issue because I'm going to be converting most of my customers to annual contracts. I have a few that are now, but not enough. And yes, it's profit. I pay myself a salary, and have a personal savings that's separate from the business.

The other thing that I could do with the money would be put it towards a much needed peice of equipment such as a leaf loader.

It's going to pour down rain all day today so I'll have some time to think about the situation.

Well you cant toss all your money in the pot. You have to have money to operate. I dont want to advise you to send every last dime on the truck. Thats not what i meant.

Some folks are differant. Rather theyre money be in theyre bank than someone elses. Me,,, i just prefer money owed to me is in my bank. Im not a big fan of monthly billing. Thats why i had that "DUE UPON COMPLETION TYPE WORK" conversation w/ you. Its great for cash flow.

In winter i get really bugged out when all the sudden my accounts are shrinking instead of growing like a weed. Start to feel like im losing money,, or spending all my money ALL THE SUDDEN. So i prefer to eliminate as many chump bills as possible just for a couple months. Ya ,, the money is not in my bank,,,, yadda yadda yadda ,,, but really im not stressin on a couple hundred bucks here and there,,, my sanity is more valuable than any amount of money sittin in my bank getting either no interest or very little. I have stock for crap like that. The $5000 a month worth of bills i do let stream in when theres snow on the ground doesnt pahse me even when i havent seen a check for a minute. I know what i got,,, whats going out,,,, and whats coming up. Vry simple program,,, basically worry free,,, and great for my ulcer.

Thanks to everyone that PM'd me with trucks for sale. If now were the time I'd probably have taken one of the offers.

Also, thanks Mike for taking the time to give me some advice.

Well guys, some of the regulars may remember that i quit my job as a landscaper and started cutting grass. I started in march and bought a Honda harmony and a walmart weed eater. Now 7 months later and 34 accounts and 4 realators strong. Ive worked my ass this season! I still dont have very nice stuff. I run an L100 along with my honda now. The bigg guys in town either lagh at me or threaten me. But im workin hard at making this happen.

Do u guys think im doing ok for my first season?

Im licensed with the city and state and pay my taxes. When will i be considered one of the guys? Ive learned so much from this site and i dont want to be a scrub anymore.
