Good, sound advice. Another reason why a PROFESSIONAL doesn't go about haphazardly throwing pesticides or herbicides in the hopes of "getting something" or "preventing something". It's also why the professional does his homework, and knows the proper timing to obtain maximum effect from a product, so he can apply the smallest needed amount.

    Great link Kaiser Stone.

      Mr Woody,

In a recent thread in the off topic forum one of my subordinates asked how I could afford such a lavish vacation with a bare metal ballet dancer while "not work(ing) at much of anything in sufficient quantity".

Unfortunately kind sir this the mentality of "money making" hose jockey with a chemlawn gun vs. a highly educated (in business, the arts and sciences) well rounded (and grounded) person like myself.

An educated and experienced grounds manager provides for the complete needs of the clients turf and ornamental plants while understanding the complete overview of nature (especially weather conditions) while providing mowing maintenance, cultural practices, pruning, fertilization, weed and insect control on a as needed when needed basis.

With education and years of experience one can receive a healthy monthly stipend while providing very little services by using IPM as long as the outcome is satisfactory to the customer.

I use a natural predator/parasite of grubs & sod webworms. So don't have to worry about insecticides or damaged lawns!
