  • Purchasing Fertilizer

Hi Im here in Indiana and this will be my first season having a small lawn service. I have been reading a couple of threads on here and understand that you need a license. I also read about how the "scotts fertilizer, covering the shelves at Lowes is crap". So can anybody tell me where/how i could get a license and where i could purchase commercial quality fertizer.

    Thanks, Travis

        Travis,

Your best source for finding out about any licensing requirements is by contacting your State Department of Agriculture or your local County Extension Office.

Here is a link to your State Government. http://www.state.in.us/

Depending on how much fert. you order/buy, it may be wise to check with a vendor. Find out who the golf courses order Fert. from. Generally you will save an additional 25 to 35 percent when ordering in bulk. Plus as long as the bag is not opened, and stored in a dry place, it will last for two seasons. Stock up and save on time, gas, and wear on vehicle.
