  • Seed after pre-ems?

I usually don't mess with fertilizer or pre-ems with my customers. But at my house, we were attacked by crab grass last year. I put down some demension from Lesco(their advice) and was wondering if I can still overseed, or will the pre-ems affect the seed germination.

Read the label. Should give you the interval when you can seed after putting it down.

I would, but my wife put the product in a stackable container and threw away the label. I read far enough to find the application rate when I put it down.

If you remember what you put down, you can look up the label on lesco website, should be able to pull up the whole label with all instructions .

Wait 90 days and you should be fine.

They won't "fry" butyou'll get a low gernination rate if theres enough water. If it is cool season turf, you'll have to wait till fall for better results.

if i pre em i don't seed......to me it goes against the grain......only in the fall or if the shade conditions are favorable in the spring ...it will be hot in richmond on 90 days...why not wait till fall when it's more favorable...?

maybe this will sink in....... here's part of your article below...

Controls annual grasses in newly seeded cool season turfgrasses

Tupersan herbicide is registered for control of annual grasses in both newly seeded and established cool season turfgrasses. Tupersan can be applied at the time of seeding to control unwanted weeds without causing injury to germinating seedlings of cool season turf grasses.

                          :
he's using lesco pre-em...how does it relate? i use the lesco pre-em and they told me how to operate it......mo- learn a formula and stick to it....and above all ask the lesco professional in your area how to spread their product for whatever scenerio you have....if you seed in 90 days pls repost the results....
