If you advertise/charge for the application of a herbicide, pesticide, fungicide or rodenicide, you MUST posess a Applicators license approved by your State Department of AG.
Basically...if you charge the client even for 1 granule..your for hire same... for ads.
      Take care

Do you really think the license inspector will be impressed with your generousity or do you think he'll see it for what it is. An action intended to skirt the edges of the law. Your intent isn't to do something nice, it's to avoid the legal requirements for making an application and that's going to be pretty obvious to anyone.

To put it another way, if you were the license inspector, would you let someone get away with that?

If you can't put your question in the proper forum no advice anyone has to give is going to be of any help.

In most states you need a license to spray any property that you don't personally reside on. Doesn't matter whether you are for hire or not. This can go so far as to a landlord who owns the property but doesn't live on it.

Those of us who are licensed went to some trouble and expense to get that license. We are therefore protective of that license and get Up set when see or hear of some spraying with out a license. We might even feel you are in fact stealing from us. You would be stealing a customer who would else wise be forced to use a licensed applicator.

K thanks guys for your input ... im trying to sub everything out but im having a difficult time having someone who does a good job get to it and hopefully soon when i have time and a little money i can get a license myself... Not trying to steal work just trying to keep the customers coming and happy i guess if i lose some here or there because they are impatient then ill just have to deal with it until i get this issue taking care of

Huh. There is plenty of pesticide companies in any yellow pages. How do determine what is considered a good job. Are you saying that you without a license can do a better job than someone with a pesiticde license?

No Mr. Money what i was saying is i was having trouble getting somone out in a timely manner to do the work ... and yes i probably would do a better job then a couple of the guys around here that is why i dont call them to do it ... they charge too much and the work is unsatisfactory... my problem was that i cant get a high quality chem app company out soon enough. All i did is basically ask a question to see if i could temporarely get around the system legally to avoid fines... not trying to cheat the system just trying to get my jobs done legally. But i guess my question draws a bunch of smart @$$ remarks ..

I guess you think pretty highly of yourself. Others are not as good as you and just don't come when you snap your fingers. Sounds like a bunch of

                            The bottom line is:

A licensed pesticide applicators will not do business with "marginal" lawn boyz for their chance of getting paid is slim to none.

A smart lawn boy would refer the applicator directly to the customer in which the applicator would then refer the dirty work they did not want back from their existing customer base to the lawn boy.

And frankly a guy just straiting out in business has no idea of what quality workmanship especially when one is completely ignorant of the trade.
