  • The Most Important Tool Needed for Pest. Control in 2008

Pesticide by-laws banning the cosmetic use of chemical pesticides on all outdoor properties (including golf courses) will be reality by 2008 across all of North America. Instead of hoses, tanks and spreaders, operators will be equipped with newer more environmentally friendly tools of the trade.

Concrete has so many different applications. Concrete is hard, but learning more about it does not have to be! Check out our posts to learn more.

Yes for once I must agree the Dandy Digger will be the next weed control of Canada. I don't think anyone can denie the hand writing is on the wall. After all we are talking about a country that banned Gas leaf Blower and other noise polution. They already have banned pesticide in certain cases and have a multitude of other laws that wouldn't fly in the states. However some where around the 49 parallel the culture and attitude totally changes for the better.

I am sure RainBow will enjoy the new form of weed control with his Dandy Digger. After all he gets to put both hands on a long shaft and pack it into the mud. He then twists and turns that shaft in a in and out motion until it Pops, the weed out and leaves a Gapping Hole. The next time someone says Double D's to RainBow please remember Mohammed De RainBow Coalition is thinking Dandy Digger and not Pamela Anderson.

Looks like you got 'JackeD Up' again, Jackiepoo.

If you hurry, maybe you can become the sole distributer for all of Canada. I can just see you making deliveries with Grandma hooked up to the front of your dog sled.

All of the Enviro-Nut restrictions originated in the US; the demise of the 2 Cycle, the annoying spark arrestor screen, the banning of blowers (which is far more widespread in the US than Canada). Some States have already begun to adopt pesticide by-laws.

Jack D. fears many will be in denial up until the day their local legislature passes the by-laws which have begun to sweep across North America.

Fortunately Jack D. has not involved himself in the somewhat feminine practice and knowledge of spreading chemicals as he only offers services which are accomplished with gasoline engines.

What's the problem, Jackiepoo, do the yellow liquids remind you that you just stopped wetting the bed last year? Thankfully you have it behind you now, so stand tall & pround like a man..... or as close as you can get.

                  Bob Kessler

Pesticides have been criticized for years and some of it was valid. The problem with the general public is they have been led to believe that all pesticides are equally hazardous, and therefore worthy of banning. Seattle has banned all pesticide use, including Roundup.
Atrazine is on the EPAs watch list because trace amounts can be found in much of our fresh water, the world over. Although it doesn't exist in damaging levels, most scientists agree it can't be good, and steps should be taken to minimize amounts.
I could never have survivied without Roundup, Atrazine, Dursban, Diazinon, and many others. Still I believe in good training when using any of these products, including Roundup. They can be safe when used according to the label.

                      Seattle Pesticide Banning

Thanks for the update. I can't remember where I saw that info. but it was awhile ago.
One of the problems with banning pesticides is it almost always applies to the professional industry only. Homeowners are usually exempted as are federal properties, military installations, etc. Also it's rarely based on scientific evidence, but more than likely the current political climate. If a person holding a public elected office thinks he can get some mileage out of an issue, regardless of scientific merit, he may be likely to jump on the band wagon. It is one of our spoils of democracy and I accept it but....that never means lying down in the face of baseless accusations.
As a whole the American public has been duped by the media when it comes to actual hazards of pesticides, cellular phones, drugs from Canada, Viagra, The Dixie Chicks, Nascar, MTV, SNL, Playboy, Playgirl, McDonald's french fries (I can't stop eating 'em), Howard Stern, Bill Gates, tap water, bottled water, Fords, and a plethora of other products and lifestyles they label as certain harm, even death to the user.
