are there any stronger total veg kill products besides promtron. I have a car dealership and right now I am spraying them every 3 months and I would like to know if anyone has found a chemical that lasts longer. (yes i know you can increase the concentrate for longer effects, but im looking for a 5 year solution or even a few years....thanks

First thing there is no such pesticide know as "promtron".
Second thing the way one makes money in this business is with repeat sales.
So why do you want to take food off your table (assuming your are a licensed certified applicator with an industrial weed endorsement which is obviously a stretch) to cater to some fat cat daddy Warbucks auto mall operator?

I am certified, took the u of I extension classes and passed the test. I dont do any fert or spraying unless required to get an acct or cust request. I do not have the aquate tools to make any money with it. (and I am working to buy a 250gal sprayer but I am not ready for that yet) I am using a backpack sprayer and it takes about 12 hrs to do the property. Please excuse my spelling error the chem i am using is Prometon. He paid me to clear everything out and now I need to keep it from growing back. It is under contract to be sprayed 3 times a year for the next two years. So if I apply a stronger chem now it will make it easier to reapply it when nothing is growing and then it wont take 12 hrs. thanks---- Chris

chris, in the most recent rounds of EPA registrations for chems, most making claims to years of effect have been removed as environmental hazards. Do we really want things that habg around forever lingering in our soils? probably not. In the meanwhile, you still have a job to address and I'd say numero uno is getting a piece of equiment that can cut down that ridiculous 12 hours of backpacking. get a 100 gallon tank and mount it in your truck or trailer, get a 12 volt transfer pump, a 100 foot section of 3/8 hose and a good spray wand. Mix it fresh on the morning you are going to spray and stuff your wand back in the tank everytime you move the truck to agitate and you should be able to keep your product in suspension, cut your app time by 75% and start pocketing enough to get you toward an even better, more profitable piece of equipment. There are also granular sterilants that you can find by doing a quick search on google that are easily applied with a spreader. Many many products are more effectie than pramitol, so do a little homework and reap the rewards.

Ok now were getting somewhere. So you are using Pramitol. At what rate are you mixing the product, what is your application rate of solution per 1K sqft and are you mixing it with water?
Please post a link to the label of the product you are using!!!!!!!
But again if you don't have a wide area ride on sprayer GreenUtah is leading you down the right path with granular products that you could at least push spread in 1/4 or less of the time it takes to backpack and wand product.
