Who the _____ applys straight nitrogen fertilizer? Such continued applications would be detrimental to the soil! I hope your monitoring other chemical levels in the soil as well. Nitrogen alone will not cause the lawn to be a forest green. Typically 46-0-0 is used on agricultural crops.

I do. And for a college student in Horticulture that wasn't the brightest post you have ever made. However very typical of You.

Professor Stone didn't say it was the ONE AND ONLY element he applied. Or did he say he put it down at 5 lb of actual N per Thousand. His Post was to inform the unwashed Masses of a better price from a different supplier, that they may not of been aware of.

I suggest you pay a little more attention in Remedial Turf Grass Management 101.

Ok, perhaps I overlooked that he may blend his own fertilizer. I haven't taken Turf Management, nor will I ever. I opted to take more Landscape Design courses instead.

Turf is part of the landscape and should be taken into account also. What does it take to be a good Landscape designer??? First One must have a certain amount of Innate artistic talent. Next One needs to have Knowledge of Horticulture and the basic rules of design. Form follows Function. If you don't understand the function of the plants, all the great design talent in the world will have no value. Six months after install the design will have out grown the function. The mark of a Good Designer is longevity of his design.

Now try and take the pebble from my hand.

(Master) Mower your quick reply to a thread about shopping for supplies implies that you have no real world knowledge of the lawn care business.

Maybe you could better spend your time here in the Landscaping parts of this web based discussion group.
