Clueless
You can get a clue from your county extension agent who is a employee of your state land grant college. You can also look for a fertilizer store like Lesco to put you on track with what is recommend for your area. Unless we actually live and work in your area, we can not give you starting out advise. Once you have some back ground, to ask intelligent question we may be able to help you.

Gee, how did you find this forum?
If you know how to use a search engine, you can find the answer to your problem. Have you ever used an on-line phone book?????? Find a place that sells fertilizer. Do you want a "to the trade" distributor? They are usually members of a Landscape Contractors guild.
Or are you just a clueless moron who had to ask a moronic question because you had no idea how to ask an intelligent question as your first posting???
Geezz.

Gee Welcome to lawn service forum Idiot. We all had to start somewhere and I don't see you making High tech posts of brilliant statements either. If there was a moronic post in this thread it was by you and not the new guy.

Thank you Ric for pointing that out. When I finish my ice cream, I will have some crow pie.
When I go back to bed and wake up tomorrow, I'll probably will have a better attitude.
P.S. "we all have to start somewhere" is just an excuse for ignorance.
The best thing he can do is to walk into an independent nursery and garden center and ask the owner about what is best and or where to find products "to the trade". Chances are that that guy will belong to the state nursery and landscape association and they would be more than happy to help out.

Lawnz, GrassPad probably isn't the best resource for fertilzer. Try Lesco. There should be several Lesco centers in the Kansas City area. Look them up on their site. http://www.lesco.com
Not all grass types require the same fertilization treatments. Therefore you will need to know what type of grass you are working with first. (mostly fescue for you)
Read this pdf file....you will learn a lot from it. http://www.oznet.ksu.edu/library/hor...ers/mf2324.asp
K-State has done intensive research and developed these recommended fertilizer applications for Kansas lawns. While you are at the oznet site, check out other publications to learn from. http://www.oznet.ksu.edu/library/hort2/
Hope this helps,
Gavin
