    BooBY

wished I only had to drop my pH that far. I have mostly Calcareous Sandy soil with an average pH of 9 or higher.

A good Acid Forming Fertilizer should be good enough the drop your pH that little bit. Look for blends that have a high percentage of both Free and combined Sulfur.

Year ago when I was still actually cutting grass myself I pick up a new customer with a real high PH soil. The last company couldn't figure out the problem and had dumped tons of Fertilizer on his lawn with no response. He has a soil sample done and had a copy of it. High pH was the problem and all the Nutrients were soil locked by the pH. I applied straight sulfur and all of their fertilizer became available and the Lawn started growing like a hay field.

Approximately 6-7 lbs of elemental sulpher per 1000 sq ft should reduce the ph from 7 to about 6.7 in sandy soil. Double the amount for clay soil.
