  • Maintaining certification is too easy....

I dunno about other states, but certification in Kansas is good for three year terms. Mine does not expire until Dec 2008.

I just signed up for the last training day (Oct 25th) I need to meet requirements for renewal, which will bring my new expiration to Dec 2011.

If you ask me, it's too easy. Any dumb idiot (me) can sit through these classes and not absorb a thing, but the State considers them trained to go out and mess with toxic substances for another 3 years?

How bout mandatory training ALONG WITH some sorta renewal testing??? Nah, that'd make it too hard.

    Rant over.

Testing testing testing.... but the well undereducated homeowner can apply it all day with no issues. It simply makes no sense.

A 14 yr old can go and buy (or order) pretty much any product that you can get....then coat his parent's lawn every day and no one will say a word.

Until that changes, the testing just seems to be another way states earn extra $$$$ from a biz owner. And it's just simple as that.

It also seems that now being licensed, they now can track & watch the licensed guy even more. Never mind getting 12 credits of recertification every three years. Oh yeah, mm, you really need a hobby.

Couldn't agree more. This session cost me something like $140-150. The last session, about the same.
