I've got a permagreen centri and it's still running strong. Only negative is it is a little cramped for oil changes and the hour meter quit on me a long time ago.

Ron Howard: Is that... vodka... and wheat grass?
Homer: It's called a "lawnmower". I invented it. Want one?

Permagreen looks like they make a great machine. What are your thoughts on the Magnum? I can get one from the local Lesco for $5995. Thanks for the help.

I would guess that the new version is good. There is/was a member Ric that made a spreader as well as prof. stone. Pick their brains if you can find them.

Thanks for the help, I pretty happy from what I have seen and read about the machine. I think it's time to pay the piper.

I've heard the permagreens are akward to run on slopes, something bout them having a high center of balance.

Some tend to like the cheaper Lesco HP speader. Handles slopes better, good all-round performer. They now make spray inserts to fit this model as well.

Sorry, nope. I don't have the volume of fert n' squirt work to justify purchasing one (yet).

Butt I have used a 30 gallon sprayer which we ran off a trolling battery. We'd run it for hours a day and I don't ever remember the battery dying?? Occasional charging would be needed of coarse, but I seriously doubt you'd have a problem. It might be something wise, if you go with the Lesco, to carry a spare battery in the truck just in case.

Liquid filled tires make them pretty decent on slopes. Also for very steep slopes, you can drop the control handle and use it as a walk behind.

Has any one used the Cub Cadet HPS(same as the Lesco just out this year). It looks like a capable machine for spreading and sprayin. I'm asking because this is my first year officially providing fertilizing and weed control and I'm looking for the best equipment for the best price. (ain't we all) I will treat single yards as well as rentals(20 yards combined, large area), what machine would you all recommend?

I've used z sprayers, perma greens and the old school push spreader with a backpack. The best is the z sprayer, its got booms for the sprayer and an agitator for the tank or tanks, plus a gun on a 50 ft hose for spot spraying. Also, after you learn the machine, its good on hills. The perma green only has a 12 gallon tank, no agitator in the tank, which is bad. No wetable powders can be used with it, and no booms. Plus its not hydrolic like the z sprayer, and the perma green is pretty crappy on hills, and no spot spraying gun. Plus z sprayers go 8mph, the perma green 4mph. And you can control the fertilizer pattern with the z sprayer with a dial that is mounted by where your hands are, the perma green has no spreader pattern adjustment, thats big when it comes to sidewalks, driveways, narrow strips, etc. If you got the money get the z sprayer, dont get a perma green. If you don't have enough push and backpack is better.

the best unit i personally ever used i think is called a T3000 and its alot cheaper then the Z sprayers but you will be surprised how effective a spreader and a 30 gallon chem tank on a regular zero turn can be for a small guy.

if it has a charge circuit under the flywheel as 99 percent of todays engines do today ,you can Use a small mower type battery ,or anything light then install a cigarette lighter jack hooked on to the battery behind the keys run position (with a diode in line ) if ya worryabout backward discharge, and let the engine keep a small light battery charged like anything else to run the gizzmos power whatever...

Radio shack sells the lighter jack for a few bucks , a diode costs 10 cents ,not that you absolutely need it anyway, so i would think this is easily done with the biggest headache nof drilling the hole for the lighter !!!!

The lighter can be disconected for powering other 12 volt like a 12v-120v inverter or other junk that ya have or lighting ciggerattes on the move if desired...

Well just a quick thought from t-magic
