• Yellow SPots On The Grass

As I was mowing a clients lawn I noticed a few spontanious yellow spots of dead grass on the lawn. I didn't ask the customer if they had sprained any thing but what could this be and how to briten up those areas? Will it require ripping out the dead stuff?

Did they just show up or have they been there? How big, how many? Are they in a certain area or are they all spread out?

The spots just showed up, and i dont cut the grass to short. They are all spread out and are a foot in diameter the most. I guess there are about 10 spots.

Not to be blunt but I've seen it and a lot of times it can be caused by dog pee.
I have a lot of customers with pets.
What kind of turf is it?

Do you see little bits of white mold, might be a fungus and can be spread by your mower, even to another yard. Or it could be an animal.

How can the problem be fixed? I'm not sure if the customer has noticed because they havent asked me about it.

Chances are that they have noticed. And they already know what caused it. Do they have dogs?
I see this in some of my properties. Some of the spray guys I use say the same thing about what is causing the spots. Dog pee will do it.
As far as repairing the spots. Well,if they do have pets, you'll have a never-ending battle on your hands!
You may want to have a chat with your customer and see what they want to do.

Without giving us your location, type of grass, and a pic nobody can give you a good answer.

Yup. Some idea of what kind of turf and location will help!

I am going to take pictures of the spots real soon. I am not sure if the customer has a dog or not, I really don't think so. I also have not talked to them about the grass, but I will next cut. Who likes mowing lawns with bad grass any way, you know.
