For Round-Up I charge between $25-35/gallon. Which equates to $25-35/1k. Reason being, you are doing more spot sprayin with a selective as opposed to a blanket application.

Hey Stone! Been wondering where you've been lurkin'! Hey Bill too! Thanks for reminding me of here.

I like the idea of charging by the gallon but how do your customers react to you charging them let's say $35 on one application and the next application you charge them $52.50 or $70.00

I have never had that issue arise. If it did, I would explain that more product was needed or vice versa. The amount will always vary. Although I round to the nearest gallon.

I would highly recommend charging a per 1,000 sqft. price with a minumum price for regular turf applications (fertiliers, pre-emergents, selective herbicides). For specialty apps (such as fungicides), charge according to the cost of the chemical. You may have to charge 1.5x to 2x your regular 1,000 sqft charge to make a profit off certain applications. Example:
            Turf Applications
base price: $34 up to 3,000 sqft
            $5 a 1,000 sqft over 3,000 sqft
            fungicide applications: application price x1.75
-Take the products you want to use and break the price down to 1,000 sqft cost. Find out how much profit you need to make and set your prices by that.
