    Im having problems with my yard it is turning yellow. It started out as a round circle, and started spreading rapidly, on my entire yard. I put fertilzer about 1 month ago and still no luck? Whats the problem? I live in zone 8. I have st augustine grass. Debbie.<img src=icon_smile_shy.gif border=0 align=middle>

    Souns like patch disease. Are you watering at night? If so STOP! Mow the grass high and bag clippings. Let the soil dry out before watering again. Water only between 7-11 A.M. It is better to water deeply a couple times a week rather than for a little bit every day. If you water deeply less often, the roots will become thicker and stretch deeper in the soil giving you a healthier lawn. You can try a fungicide from your local nursery but fungicide aren't guaranteed to work.
    In the early fall, rake out whatever grass does not recover and apply seed. Place a shallow layer of peat moss over the seed and keep moist. Guaranteed great results.
