  • Yellow Jackets be gone!!!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to control Yellow jackets & Wasp out of lawns. We have a lawn that we currently do that has Yellow jacket nest hidden in the ground all over the place the owners have several dogs and I think it might be the urine that is attracting them.

    Thanks for the help!
    Thank-You!

We use to just go there at dusk and burn em out. Pour gas down the hole, then make a 2' thin trail of gas away from the hole, then fire the trail up!

Many times they have 2 ways out, so watch out during the day.

Thanks Scaper by the way did you get the e-mail i sent? The lawn that we do the owner put out traps for yellow jackets that seem to not work at all do you know of any kind of traps? Also we have a house that we do that has a yellow jackets nest that is on the bottom of a transformer that is about twice the size of the transformer it is huge. We called the power company and they said that there is nothing they can do for it and the sprays will not reach. I cant weeded the bank were it is at, do to them flying around. There has to be a BILLION bees in it!

I can't think of anyother way to get rid of them than what Sky said but I can give some advice on how not to get stung more than you have to.

When you see that one bee on your arm don't swat it! Gently remove it and jog away if possible. The reason is that when a bee is wounded it creates a sound that we can't hear but is a war cry for them. However if you are already covered with bees, I'd run like a crazy man anyway...

          Hello:

Sounds Like You Haven't Talked to the Right Person at the Power Company, in Most Cases they would do about anything for the Consumer! Try again, Just try with another Person!

Contact Your County Agent, One Way or Another He can Help you or Point You in the Right Direction with the one at the Transformer & the One in the Ground!

Be Carefull & Let Someone Else Mess with the Nest at the Transformer, Electricity is bad Enough, But The Contents of the Transformer is Dangerous Too!

BTW: A Few Years back a Child Died because he Accidentally Stepped on a Yellow Jackets Nest, Fell Down in it & Was Stung to Death just a Little ways From it trying to Get Home! They can be Very Dangerous!

Simple to fix just put some Carbaryl powder in the entrance holes,in the evening when their not active,as they go in they take the powder down to the nest, and they walk it over the other Hornets/wasps and they die out quite quickly. If the nest is in a wall or under a building place a board just under the entrance and place the Carbaryl powder on it,same results.Quick,clean,easy.Thats what the pro's use, forget gasoline, water etc..[xx(]

Here you buy it at the Garden Centre, its also in many multi purpose sprays as the insecticide, you can use them too.
