FYI, she needed 8 bags of dolemetic lime in split apps to bring the MG up in line with the MG to C ratio which is way off at 10 to 1. most of my yards are just the opposite having low C readings.

If it is 5.3 it's 100+ more acidic where it needs to be.
    Depending on soil profile:
Sand = good with dolemetic lime.
Clay = I prefer calcium. ( slow to break down, with out the soil
compaction you get with dolemetic lime)

The reason I asked, but, now I understand it's not needed. Is to probe the spot where fungial activity is with the meter. The meter will collapse to close if not to zero. The meter react to pH activity. Interesting enough, I then did the following to help eleminate the problem here.

Preferated spots, with soil probe http://www.forestry-suppliers.com/pr...ge.asp?mi=3119, Sprinkled lime with hand held spreaderhttp://www.scottsprofessional.com/en/range/35 then applied fungicide.

This method works well for me here

But, since she didn't want it, you can try it in the future.
Something I came up with by expermentation based on past knowledge of soil positive and negative ion properties and fungials negetive charges that they give off. We all know what lime does for negativity.

Shilling out over a $100 is nothing for 18 oz.
Try, shilling out $120 for 1.3 ounces for a bottle of Halosulfuron.

        (0.9 grams for $ 13.00)

Sedgehammer is a damn good product.

Homer: It's called a "lawnmower". I invented it. Want one?
