      Phil,

Why is your price for fertilizing 35,000 sq ft more than fertilizing an acre? Isn't an acre around 43,560 sq ft?

Those prices came from a variety of contractors and what they are charging.

The size of the property only predicates the cost of the material. Your charge for materials should cover cost, time in obtaining it, and storage costs, as well as some profit. Charge for time is determined by the layout of the property. If your time in applying to a 7K open rectangular plot is the same as a convoluted 4K plot, you ought to be charging the same for your time on each plot.

All services should be priced at time, cost of providing service, and materials (if any). Flat pricing by area is for the big guys, who don't care about losing on difficult sites, and making a killing on easy ones.

Sorry but that chart is useless for all of you.

Also that chart has no costs shown or what ferts and chemicals are being used.

You need to figure you own costs, overhead, materials, labor, equipment costs before you should consider pricing.

Each area will be different. For me just to have a licence and a business to legally apply pesticides, I am shelling out $500 a year. That is before insurance, recertification classes, time, materials, equipment, and general cost of running a business.

Ron Howard: Is that... vodka... and wheat grass?
Homer: It's called a "lawnmower". I invented it. Want one?

1Chavez is 100% correct. you can't go on some chart to price your services. to get maybe a basic idea.....yea. BUT it all comes down to your cost in the end.

Especially for us. I see increases in the future for sure. We got blindsided this year. DEC sucks, & all politicians in this state suck.

There is no way I would do any of the above for the prices listed. Considering that fertilizer prices have gone way up since 2002 when this was posted as well as labor, you need to adjust according to what you want to charge.

I assume this is set up for granular application. Since I do fertilization/weed contol/fungicide/insecticide thru the spray tank, I'm getting at least double, if not triple the prices listed here.
