• pre m on seeded fescue/rye lawn??

is there a granular pre m that i can put down at the same time as seed without affecting it ? this is probably a dumb question.but theres always a new product coming out with different features. if so what name, ballpark price, application info.
thanks in advance for any input.

he he, Admin ventures out to this corner of the playground, and everyone stays away for 3 days. Gotta meet that tough cookie some day, LOL.

Tupersan (other trade names also), with A.I. siduron, will control crabgrass & foxtail in spring seeding for up to 30 days. However, the cost is much more than the cost of normal pre-ems. It has been around for many years; I first used it back in early 80s.

Last time I purchased, I think it was around $30 for a 20# bag. Rate on new seeding is 2#/K, established turf is 4#/K. Yes, it does cost a LOT more, but it will give you much better success in a spring seeding. Cost is just included in the price to client, if he wishes a proper job done. You do not waste this stuff, so apply just before weed grasses will germinate - just before, within days. You would have to make at least a second application, and maybe a third in your area, depending on how well your new seeding is doing.
